What we actually tested

We ran one 6-minute talk-style video through each approach. The two things that separated the tools were caption sync accuracy and hands-on time.

YouTube's editor is fine for trimming, but its caption tools are manual per-clip — you'll spend most of your time re-typing timestamps.
